The Perfect Girl in the Musical World

TINSAL_CVD.jpg Popular historical dramas such as Huh Joon¡¯s medicine, Sang Do¡¯s business ability, Dae Jang Guem¡¯s food, and Yi San¡¯s art of drawings is now focusing on the musical world of Cho-sun dynasty classified by A-Ak, Hyang-Ak, and Dang-Ak in the stage of Jang-Ak Won, with dramatizing the life journeys of three women, Jang Hee-Bin, Sook Bin Choi (Dong-Yi), and Queen Yin-Hyun. This historical drama called ¡®Dong-Yi¡¯ is popular these days. Behind King Yeong Jo, who has been recognized as one of the sagest kings of Cho-Sun along with Great King Sae Jong, was the love and harsh education of Dong-Yi, who for the first time rose from the status of a court maid to the highest rank in a lady of a court.

It is not easy to find a female composer in the classic music world, since there was little chance for many female composers to display the genius during the time of ¡®how dare you!¡¯ Many females including Felix Mendelssohn¡¯s sister Fanny Mendelssohn, and Clara Schumann, the wife of Schumann and the very best pianist of that time, could not distinguish themselves due to the discrimination against the females but are valued as the extraordinary composers today.

Fanny Mendelssohn was a stunning beauty, and was excessively intimate with her brother. Her musical genius surpassed that of her brother, and even after marriage she worked hard on the concert that she was in charge of and also published her work through her brother¡¯s concerts. Mendelssohn published Fanny¡¯s work on his work, and also pointed up the work of Fanny when Queen Victoria commended on the music, but still people admire Mendelssohn only.

Clara was one of the best pianists and also an outstanding female composer during the Romantic period. She fell passionately in love with Schumann, her father¡¯s pupil, and for the first time in history the true love story of man and woman was to be outstretched as music itself. Not only, after Schumann¡¯s death, Clara spent the rest of her life in love and respect with her husband¡¯s pupil, Brahms. Schumann was then a representative of the whole view of Romanticism, against the main current of music of Haydn-Mozart-Beethoven, and his standpoint held him against the conservative critics, giving him less chance to perform. Also his later works did not have the smooth endings due to schizophrenia. However, his wife Clara edited Schumann¡¯s music and made them known to the world through his memorial concert, and by that effort Schumann¡¯s music gradually received reasonable evaluations through time. Due to this reason, the cover of the Schumann Piano holds a subtitle of ¡®Edited by Clara Schumann¡¯ and Clara is valued as one of the most beautiful women in the Music history.

George Sand, Chopin¡¯s love, was also a contemporary writer. Her freewheeling lifestyle became the focus of the public attention, and particularly the maternal romance with poet Musset and musician Chopin was then a famous sensational scandal. Sand fell in love with the six years younger Chopin for nine years and became the heroine of Chopin¡¯s many piano masterpieces. The familiar ¡®The Raindrop Prelude¡¯ was composed while waiting for Sand, who went to get the anti-tuberculosis drugs for him on a rainy day.

The masterpiece ¡®The Maiden¡¯s Prayer¡¯, a popular piece for orgel music and a repertoire for piano beginners, with a good quality of arpeggio was also composed during this time (early 19th century) by a Polish female composer Badarczewska when she was 18. The indiscreet wife of Mozart, Konstanze, is known to us as an extravagant person who was insensitive to the economy, but actually she tried to revive the old days of her husband Mozart by sending her son Franz to study under a prominent musician in Vienna. Also, she was a supportive wife who spent the rest of her life to make Mozart¡¯s grand works known to the world by holding the memorial concerts to commemorate the 5th and 10th anniversaries of Mozart¡¯s death.

In the many hospitals in Boston, it is not hard to see many students who finished undergraduates and are preparing to get into the medical schools come to work as researchers. Jennifer (in the middle of the picture), who got accepted to the Harvard Medical School, is becoming a medical school from this July, and Adnan (the far left in the picture), is going to the Australian Medical School from next March. Also, the Haenam Hospital is extending the internal medicine departments and the endoscope room, and is enlarging 70 beds in the East wing and becoming the Haenam General Hospital with 500 beds in July.

In July 1997, Steven Jobs of the iPad returned to the Apple Computer as the CEO, and in July 1940, Ringo Starr, the member of the Beetles who established the record company Apple Corps, was born. Boston and Musician 6 (July) is about these Apples.

1)        The youngest son of Mozart whose real name was Franz Xaver Wolfgang Mozart but his mother, who wanted to make him the second Mozart, changed his name to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, same as his father¡¯s name, therefore he is virtually the different person with the same name with his father. He showed some musical talent, but the tag ¡®Mozart¡¯s son¡¯ followed him around all the time, and he also had the pressure of ¡®having to surpass his father¡¯. Father Mozart was ever so much great even after his death.
